In June, 2005 SS501 Debuted with their first song "Warning" in June 2005. As the center of Korea's attention even before their first official appearance, the anticipation of their numerous fans opened the way for them to have a successful introduction to Korea. Along with their debut, they were instantly labeled as a boyband. In November of that year, SS501 was able to secure their sport as one of the best singers in Korea with their second single "Snow prince". With the support of their over 300 000 fans, utilizing each of their special abilities, each member was able to broaden their work field by working as MC's radio DJs and acting in sitcoms and drama. The group's leader Hyun Joong Kim recently played the role of F4 member "Ji Hoo Yoon" in the most talked about drama of 2009 KBS's (Boys Over Flowers) (The Korea version of "Hana Yori Dango.") An epidemic syndrome picked up throughout Korea and this energy has spread out extensively with love call storming in for requests to have concerts, fan-meeting and advertisements done in over ten countries throughout Asia. Jung Min Park has currently been showing his skillful staging as a musical actor. Many overseas fans have been coming to Korea to watch his performance and so far each show has sold out. Although SS501 was originally due to release an album late 2008 due two member's busy schedules, the remaining three members: Kyu Jong Kim, Young Saeng Heo, and Hyung Jun Kim made a subgroup and release a special project album titled (U R Man) which reached #1 in all 3 major broadcasting stations, cable and online charts.
SS501, also being active in other countries, held a concert in Japan in 2006. Disregarding the fact they own concert for the first time in another country, seeing that tickets sales sold out infer a bright future of the success for SS501's advancement into Asia. Not long after their Japan Concert, they signed with a record label company in Japan called Pony Canyon. After the signing they crossed over to Japan and release their first Japanese album as well as their previous album and it enthusiastically entered the higher rankings of ORICON's daily charts. In 2008, they were given the "Best 10 New Artist" award at Japan's Golden Disk Award. Following their successful entrance into Japan's market, SS501 toured Osaka and Tokyo holding 4 sold put concerts for over 20 000 fans in July of that year. Their popularity does not stop only in Japan. In July, 2009, SS501 a swarm of fans started accumulating in China around the same time their album was to be release in Taiwan. The amount of pre-order albums that were made therefore the actual date hit a record high which qualified them to receive a Golden Disk Award in China.
