SS501 (pronounced as Double S five-Oh-one) is a south korean boy band formed by a team of 5 members, Kim Hyun Joong (leader), Heo Young Saeng, Kim Kyu Jong, Park Jung Min and Kim Hyung Joon. The team name is formed by the first letter S - 'Superstar' and the second S - 'Singer', whereas 501 meaning the 5 members always united (denotes by the '0') as one. They are under the management company DSP Entertainment.
They first debut in 8 June 2005 with the first single 'Warning' ("경고") and a 2nd single 'Snow Prince' in 10 December 2005.
In the same year, 18 December 2005, their fanclub 'Triple S' was formed. It is called Triple S because fans are the third 'S' - 'Supporter' of SS501.
